Dr. Michelle was born and raised in nearby San Juan Capistrano. She attended St. Edward the Confessor Parish School and Santa Margarita Catholic High School. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of California, San Diego, and went on to the Southern California College of Optometry where she graduated in 2001. Since graduation in 2001 Dr. Michelle has worked in many different modes of practice giving her a wide variety of experiences. In 2018 she decided it was finally time to open her own practice, What a Spectacle Optometry in Rancho Mission Viejo. Dr. Michelle has struggled with binocular vision issues personally since she was a child. While in optometry school, she finally came to understand why her vision always felt so different, and underwent strabismus (eye alignment) surgery as a fourth year student. It was a life changing experience for her. A few years ago Dr. Michelle was introduced to NeuroLens at a meeting, and was very intrigued, understanding what an awesome tool it could be for her patients with certain ocular alignment issues. She is very excited to now offer NeuroLens in her practice.
